In 1998 Compliance Pinciple Consultant Paul Downing was responsible for the development and publication of HVCA TR/17 Guide to Good Practice - Internal Cleanliness of Ventilation Systems, recognised as the ventilation hygiene industry benchmark and further amendments in 2002.

Further upgrades to TR19 were published in 2002, 2005 and 2013 and rebranded by the  BESA. (See picture)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The latest edition of TR/19 was launched in 2020 and re-branded as a specification BESA TR/19 Grease – Fire Risk Management of Grease Accumulation within Kitchen Extract Systems.

The Ventilation Hygiene Branch is currently in the process of amending the TR/19 guidance for general air handling and ventilation systems that will also be rebranded as a Specification on its expected release in 2020/21.

 

TR/19 is suitable for new build, upgrade and maintenance of ventilation systems.
